Highway Excavations
Sewer Connections and Highway Excavations

Sewer Connections
Connecting to a public sewer can be a daunting task given the criteria involved however; it does not have to be!
We have all the qualifications and insurance cover required by the relevant authorities to carry out a connection to a public sewer whether via a manhole, saddle or junction.
Before a connection can be made an application needs to be submitted and approved by the owner of the sewer (normally a water authority), upon approval and before making the connection the contractor will need to prove their competence to the owner and arrange for the connection to be inspected.
If the sewer is located within a public highway the contractor will also need to gain consent from the council (see highway excavations).
The process requires a significant amount of paperwork and possibly site meetings; we will undertake this work on your behalf if appointed to carry out the connection and the works involved to achieve the connection.
Highway Excavations
The excavate a public highway/footway firstly requires a licence from the council which is obtained by submitting an application, with the application you also need to send drawings, proof of insurance and the qualifications required for both supervisor and the operatives that will be working on site.
Traffic management and public safety are a major consideration and the proposed method of dealing with both also has to be approved.
We have been carrying out this type of work for over 20 years without incident; it is because our staff have the correct training coupled with experience.
If we are appointed to carry out this work on your behalf you can rest assured the process will be carried out in a professional manner at all times.
