Sewage Treatment

Combined Services DW remains impartial as to which manufacturer to promote when involved in a new project.

We believe each of the suppliers can offer viable options, but as their systems vary, staying impartial gives us the scope to recommend the system we know to be the right one to suit your particular situation.

Package Sewage Treatment Plants are either Self contained units for the treatment of sewage, Or units, that treat effluent from a Septic Tank to a higher standard, this type of unit is more commonly known as a Converter.

The effluent discharged from either of the above should be suitable for discharge to a watercourse or onto land where Septic Tank effluent may be considered unsuitable because of a pollution risk.

When discharging into the land, you must ensure there are no wells or bore holes in the vicinity that are in use for supplying drinking water.

Most package plants require electric power to operate; this can be provided via a mains supply or indeed solar power. All will require maintenance and de-sludging in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.

Non-Electrical Treatment Plants

There are few plants on the market that do not require electricity; the treatment process is created by air flow via vent pipes. They do require some maintenance on an annual basis, as all treatment plants do.

The down side to this type of plant is the initial installation cost may prove to be more expensive than a traditional packaged treatment plant because it requires a separate primary chamber, if you have an existing cess pit or septic tank it may be possible to use it for the primary chamber so it remains a cost effective option.

We have shown an example of this type of system below however, although at present we believe the Biorock to be the best of its type available, its existence on our website is for your information and to show there are different options available.

We will gladly supply and install this unit but we absolutely maintain our impartiality as far as suppliers are concerned to allow us the freedom to advise our clients accordingly.
